Lawson Attaway

Lawson Attaway spent his senior year on the football field, where preparation, contact, and accountability were part of every daily routine. When his final whistle blew, he faced a choice: let that be the end or find a new challenge.

He chose the challenge.

Picking up a lacrosse stick for the first time as a senior, Lawson stepped into a sport where most of his peers had been playing for years. There were no shortcuts. Every catch, pass, and ground ball demanded patience, discipline, and a willingness to be uncomfortable. Moving from the gridiron to the turf required swapping brute force for stick skills, but his football work ethic translated immediately.

Lawson accepted coaching, embraced the learning curve, and earned his confidence through relentless repetition. He quickly learned that effort is not a substitute for skill; it is the foundation that makes skill possible.

That commitment paid off. Lawson did not just adapt to lacrosse; he excelled, ultimately earning a scholarship to play at the university level.

His story is not about instant success. It is about stepping into unfamiliar territory, trusting the process, and fighting for every loose ball long after others slow down. Lawson arrived as a beginner and left with a collegiate scholarship proving that grit can fundamentally redefine what is possible.
